Well I think it’s more that people tend to over-eat so that they will feel satisfied and full after every meal. And when we take a closer look at exactly what we eat, it becomes apparent that the small amount of food we eat, in and of itself, is actually a sign of over-eating.

I also think we over-eat because it makes us feel more satiated, but then again, we are a culture that tends to over-eat. If we didn’t over-eat, then we would not be a culture that tends to over-eat. We are a culture that tends to over-eat because we are all basically hungry at the end of a meal, and then eating is the only thing we can do.

I mean, I don’t know how many people actually read the nutrition labels of all the food they eat, but we all know that the nutrition label means absolutely nothing. It’s always something else. Most of us will be honest enough to admit that we’re hungry for the next bite of pizza or ice cream. The problem is that the food we eat has no effect on our hunger and the feeling of satiety that comes with that.

A food is said to be “somewhat satiating” when it has the effect of increasing our craving for more of it. If it’s sitting there and not making you want more, its not satiating.
