  • 4 tablespoons Butter
  • 4 tablespoons All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 cups Milk Whole milk recommended

  • Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  • Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth.
  • Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until thickened, stirring occasionally.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Notes

This white sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently before serving.
