Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a bundt pan.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
In a separate bowl, combine buttermilk, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
Divide batter in half. Leave one half plain. To the other half, add 2 tablespoons cocoa powder and 2 tablespoons hot water. Mix well.
Spoon alternating dollops of plain and chocolate batter into the prepared bundt pan. Swirl gently with a knife or skewer to create a marbled effect.
Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting onto a wire rack to cool completely.
