Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add granulated sugar and brown sugar, stirring until dissolved. Bring to a boil and cook for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat and stir in flour and vanilla extract until well combined.
Press mixture evenly into the prepared baking pan.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
Remove from oven and sprinkle with chopped almonds and chocolate chips.
Let cool completely before cutting into bars.
