Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, onion soup mix, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
Shape the mixture into oval patties.
In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
Gradually whisk in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly until thickened.
Place the hamburger steaks in a baking dish and pour the gravy over them.
Bake for 45 minutes, or until the steaks are cooked through and the gravy is bubbly.
Notes
Serve hot with mashed potatoes or rice.
