  • 1 lb Canned crushed tomatoes
  • 4 cloves Garlic minced
  • 0.25 cup Olive oil extra virgin
  • 1 tsp Red pepper flakes
  • 0.5 tsp Dried oregano
  • 0.25 tsp Salt
  • 0.25 tsp Black pepper

Preparation Steps

  • Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add garlic and red pepper flakes and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add crushed tomatoes, oregano, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
  • Reduce heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened to your liking, stirring occasionally.
  • Serve over your favorite pasta.

Notes

Add a pinch of sugar to balance the acidity of the tomatoes, if desired. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
