Instructions
Preparation Steps
Cook macaroni according to package directions.
Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
Gradually whisk in milk until smooth. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly.
Reduce heat to low and stir in cheddar cheese, bacon, salt, and pepper until melted and smooth.
Stir in cooked macaroni. Serve immediately.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg or cayenne pepper.
