Bacon Mac and Cheese

Creamy, cheesy mac and cheese with crispy bacon. A classic comfort food elevated!

  • 1 pound elbow macaroni
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.125 teaspoon black pepper

Preparation Steps

  • Cook macaroni according to package directions.
  • Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  • Gradually whisk in milk until smooth. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly.
  • Reduce heat to low and stir in cheddar cheese, bacon, salt, and pepper until melted and smooth.
  • Stir in cooked macaroni. Serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg or cayenne pepper.
