Beef Broccoli Stir-Fry with Rice

This beef broccoli stir-fry pairs thin-sliced flank steak and crisp-tender broccoli with a glossy soy-ginger sauce for an easy 30-minute dinner.

  • 1 lb flank steak thinly sliced against the grain
  • 3 cups broccoli florets bite-size
  • 2 tablespoons neutral oil divided
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger grated
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch slurried with water
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 cups cooked white rice for serving

  • Whisk soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch slurry, and water.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon oil over high heat. Brown half the steak for about 2 minutes per side, transfer it, and repeat with the remaining steak.
  • Add remaining oil, broccoli, and 2 tablespoons water. Cover and steam 3 to 4 minutes until crisp-tender.
  • Uncover, add garlic and ginger, and stir 30 seconds.
  • Return beef, add sauce, and toss about 2 minutes until bubbling, thickened, and glossy.
  • Serve over cooked white rice.
