Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds beef stew meat cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup sliced carrots peeled
  • 2 cups beef broth low sodium
  • 1.5 cups frozen peas thawed
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 pie crust for top and bottom

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large skillet, brown beef over medium-high heat until browned on all sides. Remove beef and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add onions and carrots. Cook for about 5 minutes until onions are translucent.
  • Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually add beef broth, stirring constantly. Bring to a boil and reduce heat.
  • Add the beef back to the skillet along with peas. Simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Roll out the bottom pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie dish. Pour the beef mixture into the crust.
  • Cover with the top crust, seal edges, and cut slits in the top to allow steam to escape.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes until the crust is golden brown.

Notes

Let the pie cool for 10 minutes before serving.
