A classic dessert, this Brown Sugar Pound Cake is rich and buttery with a hint of caramel flavor from the brown sugar.

  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour sifted
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 cups light brown sugar packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 5 large eggs at room temperature
  • 1 cup whole milk at room temperature

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt pan.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Alternate adding the flour mixture and milk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Perfect with a cup of coffee or topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
