Cake

  • 1 box Butter Pecan Cake Mix
  • 1.25 cup Water
  • 0.33 cup Vegetable Oil
  • 3 Large Eggs

Praline Filling

  • 1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 0.5 cup Caramel Sauce
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract

Frosting and Topping

  • 8 oz Cool Whip Topping
  • 1 cup Pecan Halves Toasted
  • 0.25 cup Caramel Sauce

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, combine cake mix, water, oil, and eggs. Beat until well combined.
  • Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool slightly.
  • Use the end of a wooden spoon or a fork to poke holes all over the cake.
  • In a bowl, mix together sweetened condensed milk, caramel sauce, and vanilla extract.
  • Pour the praline mixture over the cake, making sure to fill all the holes.
  • Let the cake cool completely.
  • Frost the cake with Cool Whip topping.
  • Sprinkle with toasted pecan halves and drizzle with caramel sauce.
  • Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use brown butter in the cake batter. You can also add a splash of bourbon to the praline filling.
