  • 6 cups apples, peeled and sliced preferably Granny Smith
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup light brown sugar packed
  • 0.75 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter cold and diced
  • 1 9-inch pie crust homemade or store-bought
  • 0.5 cup caramel sauce for topping

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, toss apples with granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt. Pour into pie crust.
  • In another bowl, blend flour, brown sugar, and butter using a pastry blender or forks until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle over apples.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the apples are soft and the top is golden brown.
  • Let cool slightly, then drizzle with caramel sauce before serving.

Notes

For an extra touch, serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
