Caramel Apple Jam Recipe

A delicious homemade Caramel Apple Jam, perfect for spreading on toast or using as a topping for desserts.

  • 6 cups Apples, peeled and diced Use a variety like Honeycrisp or Gala
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 0.5 cup Brown Sugar Packed
  • 0.5 cup Water
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon Juice Freshly squeezed
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon Ground
  • 0.25 teaspoon Nutmeg Ground

Preparation Steps

  • In a large pot or Dutch oven, combine the diced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, water, and lemon juice.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly to prevent sticking.
  • Reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 25-30 minutes, or until the apples are soft and the jam has thickened.
  • Stir in the cinnamon and nutmeg. Continue to simmer for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove from heat and let cool slightly. The jam will thicken as it cools.
  • Transfer the jam to sterilized jars, leaving 1/4 inch headspace. Seal the jars and process in a boiling water bath for 10 minutes.

Notes

Store in a cool, dark place for up to 1 year. Once opened, refrigerate and use within 2 weeks.
