Caramel Gingerbread Cookie Bars

  • 1.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar packed
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 0.5 cup caramel bits

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x9-inch baking pan.
  • In a bowl, mix together the flour, ginger, and cinnamon.
  • In a separate bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar together until smooth. Add the egg and mix well.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in the caramel bits, then spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  • Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool before cutting into bars.
