Chai Cookies

Delicious and aromatic chai spice cookies, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients
  

Dough

  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon chai spice blend

For Rolling

  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar

Preparation Steps

  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and chai spice blend.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Cover the dough and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Place the 0.25 cup of granulated sugar in a shallow dish.
  • Roll tablespoon-sized balls of dough in the sugar.
  • Place the rolled balls on the prepared baking sheets, about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
