  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3 bags chai tea or equivalent loose leaf
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation Steps

  • In a medium saucepan, heat the heavy cream and milk over medium heat until just beginning to simmer.
  • Add chai tea bags to the mixture and steep for 10 minutes. Remove tea bags and squeeze out the liquid.
  • Stir in the sugar until fully dissolved. Remove from heat and add vanilla extract.
  • Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes or until cold.
  • Pour the cold mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to manufacturer's instructions.
  • Transfer the ice cream to a freezer-safe container and freeze for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

For an extra spice kick, consider adding a pinch of ground cinnamon or cardamom to the mixture.
