  • 3 cups chopped potatoes Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes work well
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1.5 cups clams chopped, either fresh or canned
  • 1 cup diced celery include the leaves for extra flavor
  • 1 cup diced onions
  • 4 cups clam juice can use a mix of clam juice and water
  • 1 cup cream heavy cream or half-and-half

Instructions
 

Preparation Steps

  • Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add onions and celery; sauté until tender.
  • Add potatoes and clam juice; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are tender, about 15 minutes.
  • Stir in clams and cream. Heat through but do not boil.

Notes

Add salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
