  • 2 cups potatoes, diced peeled
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cans clams drained and chopped
  • 0.5 cup onion, chopped
  • 3 strips bacon, diced

Preparation Steps

  • In a large pot, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp.
  • Add onions and cook until soft.
  • Stir in potatoes and add enough water to cover. Simmer until potatoes are tender.
  • Add clams and heavy cream. Bring to a simmer.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving.

Notes

For a thicker chowder, mash some of the potatoes against the side of the pot.
