A refreshing and simple pea salad with a creamy dressing, perfect for potlucks and picnics.

  • 4 cups frozen peas thawed
  • 0.5 cup red onion finely chopped
  • 0.5 cup celery chopped
  • 0.5 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 0.25 cup bacon bits

Dressing Ingredients

  • 0.75 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper

Preparation Steps

  • In a large bowl, combine the thawed peas, chopped red onion, chopped celery, shredded cheddar cheese, and bacon bits.
  • In a separate small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream, sugar, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
  • Pour the dressing over the pea mixture and stir gently until everything is well combined.
  • Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Serve chilled.

Notes

This pea salad is best served cold. You can add other vegetables like bell peppers or hard-boiled eggs if desired.
