Claussen Pickle Recipe

This homemade Claussen pickle recipe will give you crunchy and flavorful pickles every time.

  • 10 cups cucumbers sliced into spears or chips
  • 0.5 cup white vinegar
  • 2 tbsp pickling salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp mustard seeds
  • 2 tbsp dill seed
  • 4 cloves garlic peeled

Preparation Steps

  • In a large pot, combine vinegar, water, pickling salt, and sugar. Bring to a boil.
  • Place cucumbers into sterilized jars and add mustard seeds, dill seed, and garlic.
  • Pour the hot vinegar mixture into each jar, covering the cucumbers.
  • Seal jars and let cool to room temperature.

Notes

For best results, let the pickles sit in the refrigerator for at least a week before consuming.
