Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
In a large bowl, combine melted butter, brown sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and baking powder. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Stir in chocolate chips and chopped walnuts (if using).
Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached.
