Cranberry Caramel Bars

Delicious cranberry caramel bars with a buttery crust and a sweet and tart filling.

Ingredients
  

Crust Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cups Brown sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Cold unsalted butter Cut into cubes

Filling Ingredients

  • 1 cup Cranberries
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 0.5 cup Brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup Butter melted

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • Combine flour, brown sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Press the crumb mixture into the prepared pan.
  • In a saucepan, combine cranberries, sugar, brown sugar and melted butter. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until cranberries burst and mixture thickens.
  • Pour cranberry mixture over the crust.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown.

Notes

Let cool completely before cutting into bars.
