Delectable Braided Chocolate Chip Brioche Recipe

A delicious and impressive braided brioche bread filled with chocolate chips. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert!

Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 3.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.25 oz Active dry yeast
  • 0.5 cup Warm milk
  • 3 Large eggs
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup Chocolate chips

Egg Wash

  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tbsp Milk

Preparation Steps

  • In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  • Add warm milk and eggs, mix until a shaggy dough forms. Knead in softened butter until smooth and elastic.
  • Gently fold in chocolate chips. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
  • Punch down the dough, divide into three equal pieces. Roll each piece into a long rope. Braid the ropes together, tucking the ends underneath.
  • Place the braided dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Brush the loaf with egg wash.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate chips. Store leftover brioche in an airtight container at room temperature.
