Butter one side of each slice of bread.
Place two slices of bread, butter-side down, in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
Layer half of the cheese on top of each slice of bread in the skillet.
Arrange the dill pickle slices evenly over the cheese.
Top with the remaining cheese.
Place the remaining two slices of bread on top, butter-side up.
