Ingredients
- as needed olive oil cooking spray for the baking dish
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts fat trimmed off
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- to taste salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder or to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano or to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning or to taste
- 1 tablespoon butter cut into 4 pats
- 1 sheet parchment paper to cover the chicken
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400°F and lightly grease a 9-by-13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
Pat the chicken dry, place it in the dish, rub the minced garlic over each breast, and season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, oregano, and Italian seasoning. Place a pat of butter over each breast.
Cover the chicken with parchment paper, tucking the edges snugly around the breasts.
Bake for 30 to 33 minutes, until the thickest part reaches 162°F to 165°F on an instant-read thermometer.
Transfer the chicken to a serving plate and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
