  • 1 lb Ground Beef Lean ground beef recommended
  • 1 jar Pasta Sauce 24 oz jar
  • 12 oz Lasagna Noodles Oven-ready noodles
  • 15 oz Ricotta Cheese Whole milk ricotta
  • 1.5 cups Mozzarella Cheese Shredded
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan Cheese Grated
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black Pepper

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain off any excess grease.

  • Stir in the pasta sauce, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.

  • In a bowl, combine the ricotta cheese and 0.5 cup of mozzarella cheese.

  • Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Layer noodles, ricotta mixture, and meat sauce. Repeat layers. Top with remaining meat sauce and 1 cup mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese.

  • Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, add 0.5 cup of red wine to the meat sauce while simmering.
