Easy Tzatziki Sauce

A quick and easy, creamy Greek tzatziki sauce made with yogurt, grated cucumber, garlic, lemon juice, and fresh dill. Perfect as a dip or sauce.

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 0.5 cup English cucumber grated
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill chopped
  • 0.25 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 0.125 teaspoon black pepper

Preparation Steps

  • Grate the cucumber and place it in a clean dish towel. Squeeze out as much excess liquid as possible.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the squeezed cucumber, Greek yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, fresh dill, salt, and pepper.
  • Stir all the ingredients together until well combined.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld before serving.

Notes

Squeezing the excess liquid from the cucumber is crucial to prevent the tzatziki from becoming watery.
