Egg Roll in a Bowl

A quick and easy weeknight meal inspired by egg rolls, but without the frying! This recipe is packed with flavor and vegetables.

  • 1 lb Ground pork
  • 1 cup Cabbage, shredded
  • 0.5 cup Carrots, shredded
  • 1 cup Green onions, chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil

Preparation Steps

  • In a large skillet or wok, brown the ground pork over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess fat.
  • Add the garlic and ginger and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.
  • Stir in the cabbage, carrots, and green onions. Cook for 5-7 minutes, until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  • Add the soy sauce and oyster sauce. Stir to combine and cook for another 2 minutes.
  • Serve hot over rice.

Notes

For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes. You can also substitute ground chicken or turkey for the pork.
