This French onion beef and noodles is a rich, comforting skillet dinner inspired by the classic flavors of French onion soup. Ground beef, egg noodles, and a savory onion-infused broth come together in one pan, then get finished with melted provolone and crispy onions on top. It’s an easy, cozy meal that’s perfect for weeknights and just as good the next day.
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain any excess grease, then add the butter and let it melt.
Stir in the French onion soup mix, condensed French onion soup, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder until everything is well combined.
Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then add the noodles. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the noodles are tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed.
Lay the cheese slices over the top, cover with a lid, and let them melt for about 2–3 minutes.
Finish with crispy fried onions and parsley if you like, then serve and enjoy.
