Preparation Steps
Pat the steak dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and pepper.
Heat a cast iron skillet or grill over high heat until smoking hot.
Sear the steak for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer for your desired doneness.
In the last minute of cooking, add the butter and garlic to the skillet. As the butter melts, spoon it over the steak.
Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing against the grain.
