  • 0.5 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese Freshly grated is best!
  • 0.25 cup Olive Oil Extra virgin
  • 6 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 0.25 cup Pasta Water Reserved from cooking the pasta
  • 2 tbsp Butter Unsalted
  • 0.25 tsp Red Pepper Flakes Optional, for heat
  • 0.25 cup Fresh Parsley Chopped, for garnish
  • 1 to taste Salt and Black Pepper

Preparation Steps

  • Cook the spaghetti according to package directions until al dente. Reserve about 0.5 cup of pasta water before draining.
  • While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
  • Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet. Toss to coat with the garlic-infused oil.
  • Add the Parmesan cheese, butter, and red pepper flakes (if using) to the skillet. Toss to combine.
  • Gradually add the reserved pasta water, a little at a time, until the sauce reaches your desired consistency. Toss continuously to create a creamy sauce.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
