Gingerbread Crinkle Cookies

  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter Softened
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 0.5 cup Molasses Unsulphured
  • 2.25 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 tsp Ground Ginger
  • 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 0.5 tsp Ground Cloves
  • 2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 cup Granulated Sugar For rolling

Preparation Steps

  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the molasses.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Cover the dough and chill for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Roll each ball in granulated sugar.
  • Place cookies on ungreased baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the tops are cracked.
  • Let cookies cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
