Green Bean Casserole Recipe

A classic Thanksgiving side dish, this green bean casserole recipe features crispy fried onions and a creamy mushroom sauce.

  • 1 lb fresh green beans
  • 1 cup cream of mushroom soup
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 1 cup French fried onions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Steam or boil green beans until tender-crisp, about 5-7 minutes. Drain well.
  • In a large bowl, combine the cooked green beans, cream of mushroom soup, and milk. Mix well.
  • Pour mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until heated through and bubbly.
  • Top with French fried onions during the last 5 minutes of baking.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use homemade cream of mushroom soup.
