Ground Beef Nachos

These Ground Beef Nachos are a crowd-pleasing appetizer with layers of seasoned ground beef, melted cheese, and your favorite toppings!

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
  • 15 ounces refried beans
  • 1 large bag tortilla chips
  • 2 cups mild cheddar cheese shredded
  • 2 cups monterey jack cheese shredded
  • 0.5 cup black beans rinsed and drained

Toppings

  • 0.5 medium avocado diced
  • 1 large tomato diced
  • 0.25 cup scallions sliced
  • 0.25 cup cilantro chopped
  • 0.5 cup jalapeños diced
  • sour cream for drizzling

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • In a medium bowl, combine the cooked ground beef, diced onion, refried beans, and taco seasoning. Mix well until everything is thoroughly combined.
  • To a large, oven-safe skillet or baking dish, spread about one-third of the tortilla chips. Top with half of the beef-bean mixture, then sprinkle with one-third of the shredded cheeses and one-third of the black beans. Repeat the layers one more time.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Once baked, carefully remove from the oven. Top the nachos with diced tomato, diced avocado, sliced scallions, chopped cilantro, and jalapeños. Drizzle with sour cream.
