This quick and easy ground beef recipe is perfect for a weeknight dinner. It's a versatile dish that can be served over rice, noodles, or mashed potatoes.

  • 1 lb Ground Beef 80/20 blend
  • 1 medium Onion chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 can Diced Tomatoes 14.5 oz, undrained
  • 0.5 cup Beef Broth
  • 2 tbsp Tomato Paste
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano
  • 0.5 tsp Dried Basil
  • 0.25 tsp Salt
  • 0.25 tsp Black Pepper

Preparation Steps

  • In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  • Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the diced tomatoes, beef broth, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
  • Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
  • Serve over rice, noodles, or mashed potatoes. Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired.

Notes

This recipe can easily be doubled or tripled. For a spicier dish, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
