Instructions
Preparation Steps
In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Stir in the diced tomatoes, beef broth, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
Serve over rice, noodles, or mashed potatoes. Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired.
Notes
This recipe can easily be doubled or tripled. For a spicier dish, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
