Prep : 10 Total : 25 minutes

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups Blueberries Fresh or frozen
  • 0.5 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 0.25 cup Water
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice Freshly squeezed
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch Optional, for thicker sauce

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • In a medium saucepan, combine the blueberries, sugar, and water.
  • Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  • If using cornstarch, whisk it with 1 tablespoon of cold water to form a slurry. Add the slurry to the saucepan.
  • Continue to simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the blueberries have burst and the sauce has thickened. Stir in the lemon juice.
  • Remove from heat and let cool slightly. The sauce will thicken further as it cools.
  • Serve warm or cold. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

For a smoother sauce, you can blend it after cooking. Feel free to adjust the amount of sugar to your liking, depending on the sweetness of the blueberries.
