Honey Garlic Chicken Thighs

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 0.5 cup honey
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds for garnish
  • 1 tbsp green onions chopped, for garnish

  • Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  • Add the chicken thighs to the skillet and sear for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown.

  • Push the chicken to the sides of the skillet and add the minced garlic to the center. Cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

  • In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes (if using). Pour the sauce over the chicken in the skillet.

  • Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it thicken, stirring occasionally, for about 5-7 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and coated in the glaze. Reduce heat if the sauce is thickening too quickly.
  • Remove from heat. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
