  • 1.5 lb Boneless, skinless chicken breasts Cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 0.5 cup Chopped onion
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 3 tbsp All-purpose flour
  • 2 cups Chicken broth
  • 0.5 cup Heavy cream
  • 0.5 tsp Dried thyme
  • 0.25 tsp Salt
  • 0.125 tsp Black pepper

Preparation Steps

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until browned on all sides. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
  • Add onion and garlic to skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  • Gradually whisk in chicken broth until smooth. Bring to a simmer and cook until thickened, about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in heavy cream, thyme, salt, and pepper. Return chicken to skillet and simmer until heated through, about 5 minutes.
  • Serve hot over rice, mashed potatoes, or noodles.

Notes

This recipe is easily adaptable. Feel free to add your favorite vegetables to the gravy, such as mushrooms or carrots. You can also use chicken thighs instead of chicken breasts.
