In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
Add the diced onion, carrots, and celery to the pot. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Stir in the minced garlic, dried oregano, and dried basil. Cook for 1 minute more.
Pour in the beef broth and add the diced tomatoes (undrained). Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
Stir in the frozen mixed vegetables. Continue to simmer for another 10 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
