Total: 27 minutes minutes
Ingredients
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts about 1 1/2 to 2 pounds
- 1.25 ounces low-sodium taco seasoning 1 packet
- 1 1/2 cups thick and chunky salsa
- 1/2 cup water or chicken broth
- 6 corn or soft-shell tortillas for serving
- taco toppings such as shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, or pico de gallo as desired
Instructions
Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of an Instant Pot.
Sprinkle the taco seasoning over the chicken.
Pour the salsa over the chicken, followed by the water or chicken broth.
Close the pressure cooker, set the valve to sealing, and cook on high pressure for 7 minutes for fresh chicken breasts or 11 minutes for frozen chicken breasts.
Let the pressure release naturally for 5 minutes, then quick-release any remaining pressure.
Shred the chicken with two forks in the pot and stir it into the seasoned cooking liquid.
Serve in tortillas with your favorite toppings.
