Instructions
Preparation Steps
Brown the ground beef in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess fat.
Add the onion and garlic to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, lasagna noodles, water, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
Bring the soup to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the noodles are tender.
Stir in the mozzarella cheese and serve.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use Italian sausage instead of ground beef. You can also add other vegetables, such as carrots, celery, or mushrooms.
