Lobster Thermidor

A classic French dish, Lobster Thermidor features succulent lobster meat baked in a creamy, rich sauce.

  • 1 lb Lobster meat, cooked and chopped
  • 0.5 cup Heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 2 tablespoons All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Shredded Gruyere cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Dry sherry
  • 0.5 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.125 teaspoon Black pepper

Preparation Steps

  • Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  • Gradually whisk in heavy cream and sherry. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes, or until thickened.
  • Stir in Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. Add lobster meat and cheese. Stir until cheese is melted and sauce is smooth.
  • Transfer to a greased baking dish and bake at 375°F for 15-20 minutes, or until bubbly and golden brown.

Notes

Serve immediately. Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired.
