Meatloaf Recipe Creole: A Flavorful Twist

A flavorful Creole meatloaf with a zesty tomato sauce topping.

  • 2 lb Ground beef 80/20 blend
  • 1 cup Bread crumbs Plain
  • 0.5 cup Chopped onion
  • 0.25 cup Chopped bell pepper Green or red
  • 2 tbsp Creole seasoning
  • 1 Large egg Lightly beaten

Tomato Sauce Topping

  • 1 cup Tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp Brown sugar Packed
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 tsp Hot sauce Optional

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, onion, bell pepper, Creole seasoning, and egg. Mix well with your hands.
  • Shape the mixture into a loaf and place in a greased loaf pan.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together tomato sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce (if using).
  • Pour the tomato sauce mixture over the meatloaf.
  • Bake for 60 minutes, or until cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  • Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Serve with mashed potatoes and your favorite vegetables.
