Ingredients
  

For the Cake:

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whole milk

For the Buttercream Frosting:

  • 2 cups unsalted butter softened
  • 5 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • Green brown, and red gel food coloring

For Decoration:

  • Brown fondant for dirt blocks
  • Green fondant for grass blocks
  • White fondant for pixelated cake topping
  • Red fondant for pixel decorations

Instructions
 

Step 1: Bake the Cake

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a square cake pan.
  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients, alternating with milk, until smooth.
  • Pour batter into the square pan and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  • Let cake cool completely before decorating.

Step 2: Make the Buttercream Frosting

  • Beat butter until smooth and creamy.
  • Add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and heavy cream, beating until fluffy.
  • Divide frosting into three bowls and color them green, brown, and red.

Step 3: Assemble & Decorate

  • Frost the cake base with brown frosting (dirt layer).
  • Use green frosting to create a pixelated grass effect on the top.
  • Roll out white fondant, cut it into small squares, and place it on top to resemble the in-game cake.
  • Add red fondant squares as pixel decorations.
  • Use a piping bag with a small tip to add additional pixel details.

Notes

  • Easy Version: Use store-bought cake mix and pre-made frosting.
  • Extra Decoration: Add Minecraft figures (Steve, Creeper, TNT) for a fun touch!
  • Storage: Keep refrigerated for up to 3 days.
