Ingredients
- 8 plain croissants cut into pieces
- 8 large eggs beaten
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons chopped chives
Instructions
Grease a 9-by-13-inch baking dish and arrange the croissant pieces evenly inside.
Whisk the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until smooth, then pour the custard over the croissants.
Sprinkle the cheddar evenly over the top, cover the dish, and refrigerate for at least 8 hours.
Let the casserole stand at room temperature for 20 minutes while the oven heats to 350°F.
Bake uncovered for 40 to 45 minutes, until the center is set and the top is golden.
