Pizza Grilled Cheese

A delicious and quick twist on a classic, this Pizza Grilled Cheese combines the melty goodness of grilled cheese with the savory flavors of pizza!

  • 4 slices bread
  • 0.5 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.25 cup pepperoni slices or other desired pizza toppings
  • 2 tablespoons butter softened

Instructions
 

Preparation Steps

  • Spread pizza sauce evenly over one side of each slice of bread.
  • Top one slice of bread with half of the mozzarella cheese, pepperoni slices, and the remaining mozzarella cheese.
  • Place the other slice of bread on top, sauce-side down.
  • Butter the outside of each sandwich.
  • Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place the sandwiches in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Slice in half and serve immediately.

Notes

Feel free to customize with your favorite pizza toppings! Garlic powder or Italian seasoning can also be added to the butter for extra flavor.
