In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ricotta cheese, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are incorporated.
Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Brown the meatballs on all sides. This doesn't need to be cooked through.
Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in crushed tomatoes, basil, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven. Bake for 20 minutes, or until meatballs are cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
Serve over your favorite pasta or with a side of crusty bread.
