Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter, softened
  • 0.75 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 0.75 cup Brown Sugar, packed
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 2.25 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 cups Chocolate Chips
  • 14 oz Caramel Squares, unwrapped
  • 2 tablespoons Heavy Cream
  • 0.5 teaspoon Sea Salt for sprinkling

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  • Press half of the cookie dough into the prepared baking pan. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the caramel squares and heavy cream. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.
  • Pour the melted caramel over the cookie dough base. Crumble the remaining cookie dough over the caramel. Sprinkle with sea salt.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set. Let cool completely in the pan before lifting out using the parchment paper overhang. Cut into bars and serve.
