This Slow Cooker French Toast is a delicious and easy breakfast option, made with fresh bread and a rich, creamy custard.

  • 1.5 loaves French bread cut into cubes
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 cup sugar

Preparation Steps

  • Grease the inside of the slow cooker with butter.
  • Place the bread cubes into the slow cooker.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cream, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and sugar.
  • Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes and press down to ensure it's all soaked.
  • Cover and cook on low for 4 hours or until set.

Notes

For best results, use stale or day-old bread. Serve with syrup or your favorite toppings.
