Strawberry pretzel salad

A sweet and salty dessert salad with layers of pretzel crust, creamy filling, and fresh strawberries.

Ingredients
  

Pretzel Crust

  • 2 cups Pretzel twists Crushed finely
  • 0.75 cup Melted butter Unsalted
  • 3 tablespoons Granulated sugar

Cream Cheese Layer

  • 8 ounces Cream cheese Softened
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 12 ounces Whipped topping Thawed

Strawberry Layer

  • 1 package Strawberry gelatin 3 ounce
  • 2 cups Boiling water
  • 4 cups Fresh strawberries Sliced

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Combine crushed pretzels, melted butter, and sugar. Press into the bottom of a 9x13 inch pan.
  • Bake for 10 minutes. Let cool completely.
  • Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Fold in whipped topping.
  • Spread cream cheese mixture over cooled pretzel crust.
  • In a separate bowl, dissolve strawberry gelatin in boiling water. Stir in sliced strawberries.
  • Pour strawberry mixture over cream cheese layer.
  • Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.

Notes

Optional: Garnish with additional sliced strawberries or whipped cream before serving.
